Enerquip’s commercial-grade shell and tube heat exchangers are available for non-sanitary applications. Constructed of 100% stainless steel for long-lasting value and corrosion resistance, they’re ready for even then most challenging environments.

These exchangers are well suited for utility applications such as heating and cooling thermal oils, tank jacket heating, or producing hot water for wash-down stations. Other applications our customers bring to us include steam generating, ice melting and waste water cooling prior to discharge.

We have experience helping customers who need a reliable intermediate heat exchanger to transfer heat from plant steam to thermal fluids, or use waste heat from an exhaust stack to heat water or preheat combustion air for their process.

We also supply replacement tube bundles for many brands of commercial heat exchangers, with most customers opting to upgrade their bundle materials to stainless in order to prevent future down-time from a premature bundle failure.

Enerquip’s Commercial Grade Solutions

Water Heaters

One of the most common uses of shell and tube heat exchangers is for the production of hot water. Water heating is an integral part of any industrial operation, so it is important to make sure you employ the proper solution for your plant. Hot water is necessary to ensure safety, sanitation, and continued operations in any commercial facility.

Water heaters rely on heat exchangers to transfer thermal energy from a heating solution to increase the temperature of water. To do this, cold water is sent through the tube side of the exchanger while steam or hot thermal oil is sent through the shell side of the exchanger.

In any water heating application, it is important to have the right components for your system to keep the heating process efficient and not lose thermal energy.

Snow Melt Coils

Enerquip supplies snow melters to many OEM’s that install ice skating rinks throughout North America. Our snow melt pit coils fit neatly down inside the trench where the zambonis drop the ice shavings after cleaning off the rinks.

A series of metal grates attached to the baffles on the melter protect the stainless steel tubes from damage when the snow gets dumped on them. Hot water or steam is used to circulate through the tubes, melting the snow, which is then carried off to a drain. Because the snow pit size varies from rink to rink, these coils can be custom designed to fit the shape of the pit.

Our snow melt pit coils are made from 100% stainless steel, making them corrosion resistant and robust enough to hold up to any chemicals that may be in the municipal water.

Oil Coolers & Heaters

Nearly every industry with fluid processes rely on oil heaters and coolers for production. Enerquip’s experienced sales engineers have worked with a wide variety of thermal fluids, brines, and lubricants and can assist you in selecting the perfect shell and tube exchanger for your application.

Where boiler steam or hot gases can’t be used to heat product directly, oil heaters act as the intermediary source of utility heat. Heat transfer oil typically enters the heater through the shell side of the heat exchanger. Heat from the burner gas or steam passing through through the tubes radiates into the thermal fluid circulating around the tubes in the shell. The hot oil can then be used to safely heat product, by being circulated through another heat exchanger or tank jacket.

Used in a variety of industries from chemical plants to water treatment systems, oil heaters (and coolers) are imperative for many industrial applications.

Shell and tube oil coolers are designed to efficiently reduce the high fluid temperatures encountered in today’s machines. Many industries rely on shell and tube oil coolers, including pulp & paper converting, mining, and industrial refrigeration systems. We frequently design oil coolers for customers needing a closed loop chiller system, where thermal oil is cooled down using a refrigerant, and then used in the shell of an exchanger to cool product flowing through the tubes.

We’ve also helped customers cool hydraulic oil on everything from plastic injection molding machines, to pump skids to U.S. Navy ships.

Steam Generators

In many industries, steam generator applications are indispensable. They are found in schools, hotels, urban heating systems, office buildings, accommodation areas, farms, planting greenhouses, food processing plants, feed industries and many more.

Steam generators can be used for heating, cooling, sanitizing, cleaning, humidification in production processes and can also be used for power generation.

Many OEM’s turn to Enerquip to supply the shell and tube heat exchanger for their steam generation systems. By using potable or purified water on the tube side of the exchanger and applying steam in the shell side of the exchanger, they can produce reliable, consistent steam for their customers.

These can be configured in a vertical fashion, or an inclined horizontal orientation. Whether you are looking to develop a standard set of steam generators for your systems, or if every application requires a unique design; Enerquip’s talented engineers will help you develop the perfect shell and tube solution for your steam generation needs.

Replacement Tube Bundles

Enerquip’s in-house machining center and tube bending capabilities give us the ability to not only build replacement tube bundles or our own exchangers, but the ability to build them for our competitor’s units as well – often in less time than they can!
