Join the Enerquip Team – Design Engineer

Enerquip has a full-time opening for a CAD Design Engineer in Medford, WI.

The person in this position will develop approval and shop fabrication drawings for heat exchangers and other process equipment. Drawings will include details to all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture. They will interpret prints, specifications, and design equipment that will meet clients’ needs, as well as meet code requirements. They will have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology. They will possesses mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations, and have familiarity with CAD software, such as SolidWorks.

Education and experience:

  • Degree in Engineering and/or relevant technical experience
  • SolidWorks Experience and Mechanical Aptitude are preferred
  • Experience in a similar role, a plus
  • Experience with ASME Section VIII, a plus

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Uses computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks CAD) equipment and software to develop designs.
  • Creates and revises production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Sketches rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and location of holes.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of products.
  • Draws finished designs.
  • Updates Drafting and Engineering Standards.
  • Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production drawings.
  • Converts existing production drawings to SolidWorks.
  • Communicates with sales, QA, engineering and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.
  • Other duties as assigned.
