Enerquip Thermal Heating Experts to Present at NISTM 2026

Selecting the right process heating system takes more than comparing equipment specifications. Operating temperature, system layout, fluid selection, maintenance requirements, and long-term efficiency all affect how well a system will perform.

Enerquip’s Shailendra Seecharan and MacKenzie (Kenny) Devilbiss will explore these considerations during their presentation, “Heating Applications Using Hot Oil Heaters,” at NISTM’s 2nd Annual Aboveground Storage Tank Conference & Trade Show in Long Beach, California.

The session will begin at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 3.

Practical Guidance Backed by Experience

Shailendra and MacKenzie bring nearly 20 years of combined experience working with industrial heating systems. Their presentation will draw on that experience to help attendees better understand where thermal fluid heaters fit within process heating applications and what to consider when selecting a system.

Rather than focusing on a one-size-fits-all answer, they will discuss the operating conditions and design decisions that can shape system performance, including:

  • Required process temperatures
  • Available installation space
  • Energy efficiency goals
  • Temperature control requirements
  • Equipment access and maintenance
  • Long-term reliability

Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how these factors work together and which questions to ask when evaluating a new system or replacing aging equipment.

Why Use a Thermal Fluid Heater?

Hot oil heaters, also called thermal fluid heaters, circulate a heat transfer fluid through a closed-loop system. The heated fluid transfers energy to a product, material, or process without coming into direct contact with it.

This approach can deliver consistent, controlled heating at high operating temperatures without the elevated pressures commonly associated with steam systems. For tank terminals and other industrial facilities, thermal fluid systems may be used for applications such as tank heating, product temperature maintenance, heat tracing, and other indirect heating needs.

The right system design can help a facility maintain stable temperatures, improve process consistency, simplify operation, and reduce unnecessary energy use. However, those results depend on properly matching the heater and overall system to the application. That is where experienced engineering makes a measurable difference.

Join Us in Long Beach

NISTM’s conference brings together tank owners, operators, engineers, contractors, regulators, and equipment specialists to discuss storage tank technology, regulatory updates, and lessons from across the industry.

The event runs September 1–3, 2026, at The Westin Long Beach. The agenda includes Tanks 101 and SPCC short courses, networking events, conference sessions, and a full-day trade show on Wednesday, September 2.
