Opportunities for Students at Enerquip


Who: High School Students
Discover diverse career paths and acquire practical skills through Enerquip’s high school mentorship program. For several hours per week, students are immersed in fields such as welding, machining, design, and more. This program is ideal for students looking to gain insight into a particular career, enhance their skills, and gain practical experience. Contact us with questions or your school’s guidance counselor to apply and enroll.


Who: Students Enrolled in Technical Programs or College
Apprenticeship is a part- or full-time, paid position that helps students comprehensively understand their preferred field while earning college credits. This deeper dive offers students more challenging roles and responsibilities. While it’s preferred students complete Mentorship before Apprenticeship, it may not be required. Contact us with questions or your school’s guidance counselor to apply and enroll.


Who: Medford Area High School Seniors
The Joseph “Pep” & Frances Simek – Enerquip Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Enerquip’s visionary founder by awarding an annual $2,000 scholarship to an accomplished Medford Area High School student pursuing education at an accredited technical school. Consult with MASHs scholarship coordinator for further details.

Starting in November 2024, the aforementioned scholarship will undergo a transformation, adopting the title of the “Enerquip Scholarship” in commemoration of Pep and Fran Simek, and Jim Nielson. This reimagined scholarship initiative will now offer three distinct scholarships, each valued at $1,000. One scholarship will be awarded to a graduate from Medford High School, another to a graduate from Rib Lake High School, and the third to a graduate from Gilman High School. These scholarships are designated for students pursuing degrees in technical education, specializing in welding, machining, CAD design, or engineering.

The application window will typically open from November 1 to February 1 annually. Seniors from Medford, Rib Lake, and Gilman High Schools are encouraged to seek guidance from their respective school counselors or scholarship coordinators for further details.
