NISTM Conference Sessions
Tuesday, December 5th, features the Tanks 101 course, running from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This comprehensive course is tailored for engineers, inspectors, regulators, administrators, and managers responsible for storage tank facilities. It offers a unique opportunity to improve your understanding of facilities in the petroleum, chemical, aviation, and paper and pulp industries. Furthermore, this course is an excellent platform for networking and consulting with experts in the field.
The Tanks 101 Course covers a wide range of topics, including aboveground and underground tank configurations, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and inspection of petroleum terminal and tank facilities. It delves into standards like API 650, API 653, API 2610, API 2350, and API 579, offering insights into shell design, floating roofs, foundations, venting, hydrostatic tests, and more.
The course also focuses on ensuring the safety and integrity of tanks, guided by the well-known tank inspection standard, API 653. The course addresses various damage mechanisms, such as brittle fracture, corrosion, settlement, and repairs.
Wednesday, December 6th, features a range of sessions including topics like safety programs, regulatory discussions, carbon offsets, corrosion protection, and much more.
Thursday, December 7th, carries on the conference with a schedule of informative sessions. Topics span from lightning-induced fires to advancements in project management tools, seismic evaluation of storage tanks, and more. There’s a wealth of knowledge to be gained for anyone involved in storage tank management.
